Delivered through the Trials

We all pray for the Lord to be with us when we fall into difficult situations. I am sure that most of the time, we ask the Lord to take the hardships away, so we don't even have to deal with them. However, He doesn't do that very often., Most of the time He delivers us through the trials, instead of delivering us from the trials. In each case He has a good reason for doing what He does.

Jeremiah went through many painful trials as he prophesied to the people of Jerusalem and Judah. The king and the people did not like to hear his message of the destruction of Jerusalem. He was beaten, put in prison, lowered into a muddy cistern to die. However, God sent someone to rescue him. (Jeremiah 39:11-12) Then, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon took the city and sent his captain of the bodyguard to care for Jeremiah. He ordered him to take him, look after, and not to do anything harmful to him. Instead, he Jeremiah was free to do as he pleased.

When we are saved through a trial, it gives us the opportunity to grow in our relationship with the Lord. It grows our faith in Him as we keep trusting, no matter what happens. It grows our understanding of God's ways. It also shows us God's character and His love for us. The bottom line is that we grow by trusting God through trials. It is His way to make us strong.

In the end God brings us through the trial, and we are able to express our thanks to the Lord for His watchcare over us. We worship Him for His love for us. We are able to tell others how God sustained us. Sometimes, we are even privileged to escape the consequences of the trial that others have to face, because God blesses our faithfulness. Therefore, let's keep being faithful to the Lord through whatever comes our way.
