Nothing New under the Sun

 As we look around today, we see so many things happening that we can't remember ever seeing in our lifetimes. It is even beyond that. There are things we are seeing that have not happened in America before. Sometimes, we can get scared and think that everything is out of control, and we will never be able to deal with all the changes. Please, don't let these things worry you.

The Bible gives us the facts straight from God. They should be a great comfort to us in times like these. (Ecclesiastes 1:9) God assured us that what has been is what will be, and what has been done will be done. This is true because there is nothing new under the sun. Let's get this fixed in our minds and hearts, so we won't be so troubled.

Human beings are the same as they have been ever since Adam and Eve sinned. The human mind is the same, and the flesh is the same. Therefore, people have always been tempted to do all kinds of things by the world, the flesh, and the devil. People have been giving in to those temptations for thousands of years. The things we see today are not new. They are things which have been done for a long time.

Also, God never changes. He has seen it all, and He knows exactly what to do in every situation. He is in control. He knows what to allow and what to stop. All we need to do is to trust that God will always do what is best for us and for all people to be saved and to live an abundant life. Don't worry! The worst sinner can be saved by grace through faith in Jesus, and then his or her life will be radically changed. Our part is to pray and to be His witnesses to those around us.
