Serve with Jubilation

As Christians, we should be known for our joyful disposition. Others should be attracted to the Lord, as they see us living in joy and praising the Lord. It should be especially evident in our service. When we serve others, and when we serve the Lord, we should be thrilled to be able to perform that service. However, I am afraid it is not that way with many believers.

I think the psalmist really made a great point about how we are to live. (Psalm 100:1-2) He said that all the earth should shout joyfully to the Lord. We should serve the Lord with jubilation, and come before Him with rejoicing. Just let that sink in for a minute, and it will help all of us experience life as God intended it to be.

It just feels good to shout sometimes. It really helps when we shout in joy. We just let our joy come roaring out. That is what we need to be doing to the Lord all of the time. We must let all of His joy come out of our mouth and shout it for all to hear. Then, we should take that joy and serve the Lord with a joyful heart of jubilation, not out of duty or drudgery.

Jesus was a servant, and we are to be like Jesus. Jesus was glad to serve others and thus to serve His Father. That should be the basis for our jubilant service. Then, when we come before the Lord in prayer or when we stand before Him in worship, we should do it with rejoicing. We should be rejoicing over the opportunity to serve the One True God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
