People Curse, God Blesses

 We live in a very toxic society today in America. People have taken sides, and they are set on tearing down those on the other side. People can't seem to have a conversation with others with whom they disagree. All they want to do is to shout curses. It can make us, as Christians, afraid to speak up for the Lord. We must not let that happen to us.

David was constantly attacked by those who were against him for various reasons. He lived through the attacks, and he learned some lessons. (Psalm 109:28) He found out that they will curse, but God blesses. He saw that when the critics rose up, they were made ashamed, but the servants of God were glad. I believe we will see the same thing happen today, since God has not changed.

All people know how to do well is to curse and to destroy other people. They tear down, instead of building up. If we listen to people, we will stay silent, and we will miss the blessing of the Lord. God blesses us, as we live for Him and stand strong, no matter what others say or do. We see that in the Bible and in history.

Also, we must not be ashamed of being followers of Jesus. It is our enemies who will be made ashamed. God will make sure that they do not receive the honor they seek. He will bring shame on them and their beliefs. At the same time, those who serve the Lord will be glad. We will see God's blessings, and we will be glad that we are not ashamed to stand up for our Lord, who died for us.
