Restore Us
Most of us have had times in our lives when we were very close to the Lord. We were growing and enjoying an abundant life as we walked with Him each day. Then, before we know it, one thing led to another, and that relationship slipped into a mediocre pattern. We did not have the daily fellowship with the Lord like before. We needed the Lord to restore us to the way it was before.
The psalmist saw this happen with the people of God. (Psalm 80:7) He cried out to the God of armies, "Restore us and make Your face shine upon us, and we will be saved." Perhaps that is a prayer that you need to pray from your heart to the Lord today.
We must all realize that God is all-powerful. He is the Lord of hosts or the God of armies. He has multitudes of angels at His command, and what He decrees will always come to pass. We need to call upon our powerful, loving God and ask for restoration. We need His mighty hand to draw us close to Him. He can do it, but we have to admit our need and turn to Him.
He will love it when He hears us make this plea, and His face will shine upon us. We will feel the warmth of His smile, and we will be delivered from the mediocre life. We will be delivered or saved from walking in our own power. We will see Him moving in our heart and life again to give us victory as we follow Him. Once we get restored, let's make the commitment to God to never let that happen again, but to stay right in the center of His will for us every day.
