What is Man?

When we are having troubles, sometimes we have more questions than answers. We can get to where we doubt what we knew to be the truth before the trouble started. All of this happens because we become disconnected from reality. We must get back to what we know to be the truth and base our thoughts on those things, not our questions and doubts.

Job went though this in his time of trouble. He had many questions for God. (Job 7:17-18) He asked God, "What is man that You exalt him?" Why are You concerned about people? Why do you examine us every morning and put us to the test every moment? I believe Job really knew some of the answers, but he was disconcerted by his troubles. We can have the same thing happen to us.

God cares about us. He loves us. We are His highest creation, since He created all of us in His image. Like a proud Father, He wants to exalt us, as His children, when we do His will and follow Him well. He is always concerned about everything that happens to us, because of His love, even when He doesn't take away our problems quickly.

God examines us every morning and all day long, because He doesn't want us to fall into sin. He knows the wages of sin is death. He wants to spare us from the ravages of sin's consequences, so He tests us by sending trials. Those trials are not to harm us, but to strengthen us, so we can live holy and happy lives as we trust Him. That is why Job had his troubles, and it is the same with us. Never doubt that God cares about us.
