Have You Considered My Servant?

We all like to recognized by others. That is true, even when we go to Wal-Mart. We love to have someone notice us, smile at us, or give us a compliment. It is even better when we are recognized for who we are or for what we have done. We love to get awards or receive the praises of others. The best recognition comes from the Lord, though.

Job was recognized by God to be His best servant on the earth. What an honor for Job! (Job 1:8) When the Lord saw Satan, He said to him, "Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil." How wonderful it would be for us to hear the Lord say the same thing about us.

God notices us when we are His servants. It pleases Him when we know that He is the King, and we are His subjects, to do what He has for us to do. On top of that, if we are blameless, we find ourselves in a unique category. That means others can't find any sinful thing to blame us for. It is not that we don't sin, but if we do sin, we confess it, and make it right with others quickly.

When we do these things, we are upright, living a righteous life. We do this because we fear God. We listen to Him, and we do what He wants out of love and respect, while turning away from anything that doesn't please Him. Now, what we should all want to hear from God is that we are doing these things better than anyone else on earth, like God told Satan about Job.
