God Has Looked After Me

There are some things that we say that have a very comforting impact on us. It is not just what is conveyed in the meaning of the words, but it is the implication of the words. When we say that someone is "dear" to us, that is more personal than just saying we care about them. If we say that we are "beholden" to another person, it has a much more personal implication than saying we owe them something.

David used one of those sayings when he was talking about God. It gives me a warm feeling to hear it. (Psalm 13:6) David said that he would sing to the Lord, because He had looked after him. Just stop to think of that for a minute. The Ruler of the universe "looked after" David, and He is doing the same thing for each of us, as His children, right now.

We might think that God is too busy to look after us individually, but He isn't. He has no time constraints. He is able to be everywhere at the same time, and He sees everything that goes on. Therefore, He is our Heavenly Father looking out for us, like our earthly father or mother would do. Isn't that something to sing for joy about? I think so.

He looks out for our safety, because He sees everything that we are about to encounter through the day. He looks out for our needs, for He knows what we need before we need it. He even looks out for our heart condition. He feels our pain, and He looks out for us, so that He comforts us and encourages us. God looks out for us, and we should sing His praises for being such a diligent Father for us.
