Plant the Good Seeds
Every day we are using our time to plant things into our life. When we plant worthless things or sinful things, we will harvest confusion and strife. However, if we decide to use our time wisely and plant the good things in our life, it will yield a harvest of order and peace, as well as other good things. We have control over what is planted.
God gave this principle to the people in Hosea's day. (Hosea 10:12) He told them to plant the good seeds of righteousness, and then they would harvest a crop of love. He commanded them to plow up the hard ground of their hearts, because it was time to seek the Lord, so that He might come and shower righteousness upon them. Great truths for us today, too.
The seeds of righteousness are the things that lead us to be right with the Lord and with other people. When we are at peace with God and with others, we are cultivating love, and it will grow and grow. The more we love God, the more we will love others, as He does. So let's plant righteousness every day.
However, if our hearts are hard, the seeds of righteousness will not bear fruit. We have to break up our hearts by confessing sins, repenting of them, and turning to God. It is always the right time to seek the Lord, listen carefully, and do what He says. Then, He will shower us with righteousness with Him and with others.
