Committed to Prayer

We all make time for the things we feel are very important. Most of us would never miss a meal. We sure don't miss fixing our hair or putting on our makeup before we go out for the day. These things are priorities. What about prayer? Do we consistently make time for meaningful prayer?

Daniel always made time for prayer, and God blessed him for it. (Daniel 4:10) Even when Daniel knew that the law had been signed forbidding any prayer to anyone except the king of Persia, He went home and knelt down in his upstairs room with its windows toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God. What an example for us!

We must show God that we know we need His help in everything we do. We need His wisdom and direction. We need His strength. If we really trust Him to aid us with these things, we must exercise our faith to call out to Him, seeking His will to be done.

We must do this every day, not just when we have trials and special needs. If we only do it when we need something, God sees that, and it grieves Him that we do not care about talking to Him. He knows we are just being selfish, and He will not answer those prayers. Let's decide to be a pray-er like Daniel and see what God does.
