Freed by God's Power
God is the Sovereign Ruler of the universe. He is also the Loving Father of all who know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Because of this, He is vitally involved in all of the affairs of men on this earth and especially in the lives of His people. He will choose to show us His love in whatever way is best for us and the situation. We can always count on God.
God assured the prophet Hosea of this fact for the people of Judah. (Hosea 1:7) God declared that He would show His love to the people of Judah. In fact, He would free them from their enemies - not with weapons and armies or horses and chariots, but by His power as the Lord their God. This promise was made to Judah, but it shows us God's way of freeing His people today, too.
If we are having troubles, God often sends other people to free us from those problems. He gives them the physical resources or the knowledge needed to help us. It may be a doctor who does surgery on us. It may be that our country wins a battle against a foe. However, in any case, it is our Loving Father using human means to set us free from our enemies.
Then, there are those special times when God doesn't choose to use human means, but He decides to use His power as our Sovereign Lord to free us. This is when God works an unmistakable miracle to set us free. He could heal us immediately as Jesus did in His time on earth. He could confuse the enemies and cause them to flee. No matter which way God chooses to show His love, we need to be sure that we have been freed by our Loving Father, and give Him all the glory and thanks.
