God's Blessing on Israel
We see the grace and mercy of God when we look at how He has stuck with the people of Israel down through the ages. He made them His chosen people beginning with the faith of Abraham and the Patriarchs. He settled them in Canaan after the time in Egypt, but they deserted God for idols and were exiled. Finally, Jesus came, and most of them rejected Jesus, so they missed salvation, but God did not abandon them as a people.
Ezekiel tells us that at the end of time God will again bless Israel. (Ezekiel 39:29) God promises that a time will come when He will never again turn His face from Israel, for He will pour out His Spirit upon the people of Israel. This promise comes from the Sovereign Lord Himself. This shows us the love of God for Israel.
After centuries out of the Holy Land, the nation of Israel was restored in 1948. It has been a mostly secular country since then, but there are conservative Jews and Messianic Jews there now. I believe God is preparing for the time of Jesus' return in the Rapture, and then, the Jewish people will finally believe what the Bible says about Jesus and trust Him as Lord and Savior.
Romans 11:25-27 speaks of this time, after the fulness of the Gentiles, when all Israel will be saved. I believe this is when He will pour out His Spirit on the people of Israel, as He does for all believers in Jesus. He will protect them through the Tribulation time, so they can enter the Millennium. They will have all of the Old Testament promises fulfilled then, and they will see how all of the Old Testament pointed to Jesus. Those alive then will belong to Jesus forever.
