Righteousness will bring Peace

People want to live in peace. They want their lives to go well and to be happy. The problem is that they look for this peace in all the wrong places. They think their unrighteous attitudes and actions will accomplish this goal. That is never the case.

God showed Isaiah a time of peace in the future. (Isaiah 32:16-17) He said at that time justice will rule in the wilderness and righteousness in the fertile field. And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever. The same thing will happen today, if we will live in righteous.

Our country is in an uproar because there is no justice and righteousness. People can see what is happening, and these things are so unfair. The prevailing powers are pushing unrighteousness as much as possible. They say it will make things better, but the opposite is true. It will get worse and worse.

As believers, we need to lead the way in living in righteousness before God and other people. We need to apply God's will and HIs ways to all we do. That will bring peace and quietness to our lives, and others will see it. Then, as we tell them why we are experiencing these things, they will be drawn to the Lord, too. The way to have peace in our country and world is to have a great revival of the Lord's righteousness by people turning to Jesus.
