Wisdom Learned from Ants

We do not have to get a college degree to gain wisdom. We don't even have to do a lot of research on the Internet. God's wisdom is shown to us in His creation and in His Word. We have no excuse for not gaining wisdom. We can gain great wisdom just from observing ants in our yard.

The book of Proverbs told us this truth long ago. (Proverbs 6:6-8) Lazy people should take a lesson from the ants. They should learn from their ways and become wise. Though ants have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer gathering food for the winter. Yes, we can learn wisdom from ants.

We should not have to be made to work. We should realize that work is a good thing, created by God to help us, not to hurt us. We should enjoy working and work hard at what we need to do. Then, we will see the rewards of our labor in having what we need for our life.

Some of us get to the winter times of our lives, and we have a lack of money or other necessities of life. The reason for our lack is not that God is not blessing us, or He is against us. The problem is that we did not work hard and save up for the hard time. The reason is that we did not plan for the times that we could not see in advance. Ants do these things, and so can we, if we have wisdom.
