Why Praise the Lord?

The Bible commands us to praise the Lord. There are admonitions to praise Him from the Genesis to Revelation. He deserves our praise, and He is worthy of all praise. However, if we do not realize why He is worthy of our praise, it is difficult for us to praise Him as we should.

The psalmist goes into some of these reasons to praise Him. (Psalm 148:5,6) He told us to let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for He issued His command, and they came into being. He set them in place forever and ever. His decree will never be revoked. See why He is worthy of praise?

God issued a command, and all of creation came into being. He spoke, and the stars, planets, and galaxies were created perfectly in one instant. God created the angels to serve Him and to minister for Him. As He issued this command, God set them in place forever and ever. No one can ever revoke His decree.

Only God could have done these things. We could never change any of His created universe. He is worthy of praise for creating, sustaining, and ruling the universe. He is worthy of praise for being eternal and having all power to do whatever He desires to do. Therefore, as His created beings, we are to major on praising Him. That is to be our attitude, and it is to be seen in our actions, and heard in our words.
