The Great King of All the Earth

It might seem like the world is out of control, but it isn't. Most people could be thinking that no one is in charge. They want some human to rescue our world from all of the wars, famines, and hunger. The truth is that no human could ever lead the world to peace and prosperity. Only God can do that, and He will one day.

The psalmist knew this fact all too well. (Psalm 47:1-2) He encouraged everyone to come, clap their hands and shout to God with joyful praise, because the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth. I believe it would do all of us well to stop and do that right now.

Our God is the Most High God. He is awesome. He is the Great King of all the earth. Nothing is out of His control. He is sovereign over all the other rulers, and He is bringing this world to His conclusion. The reason we are having the troubles we are seeing today is that the earthly leaders are not following His will. They are trying to run the world by themselves, which will never work.

One day, Jesus will come again. He will reign from Jerusalem. The earth will enjoy 1,000 years of peace and prosperity under His loving rule. All of the peoples and all of nature will be guided by the Most High God. As Christians, we will reign with Christ during that time and ensure God's will is done throughout the earth. I am looking forward to that day and time. I pray all of us know Jesus as Lord and Savior, so we are ready for Him to come.
