Freed from Fears

We can be controlled by our fears. Some people are afraid of speaking in public, so that limits what they can and will do in life. Others are afraid of rejection, so they won't even try to do many things, and they won't form relationships with others.. There are a good number of people who are afraid of things they imagine could happen, but they never do. Fear is a serious enemy.

David had a lot of things that could cause him to have fears. He was a king, so others could want to get rid of him. He was a soldier, so he could fear being killed in battle. He could fear what others were saying about him. (Psalm 34:4) Instead, David prayed to the Lord and God answered him. He freed him from all his fears. What a blessing!

We can all do what David did. God doesn't want us to have fear. He never gives us the spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind. (II Timothy 1:7) He wants our perfect or mature love for Him to free us from all fear. (I John 4:18) We have to go to Him like David did, and ask Him to give us that freedom. God is faithful.

When we pray about our fears, we have to cast them all upon Him. We must pour out our fears to Him, and know that He cares. Then, leave them at His feet, knowing that He will never leave us or forsake us. He will deliver us from anything that will really harm us. If we do have troubles, there is no reason to fear, God will see us through them all.
