Committing Everything to Jesus

Life can be very complicated and scary. We have to decide what to do and when to do it about all of the issues of life. These decisions determine everything from how we will treat other people, to how we will make a living, and where we will live. However, the Lord wants to make it much simpler for all of us.

David said it well. (Psalm 37:5) We are to commit everything we do to the Lord. We must trust Him in that decision, and He will help us with every facet of our life. That way, we are simply following His will and trusting Him, instead of trusting in our own limited knowledge.

Once we trust Jesus as Lord of our life, this is the only way that makes sense. When Jesus is Lord we do what He says to do, and we do it His way. Most of the time we can do this by following what the Bible says. We learn the truth, and we trust Him by doing it His way. When He sees our trust, He helps us accomplish what we need to accomplish well.

At other times, we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. We go where He says to go and do what He says to do. We do this for the Lord, not for ourselves. When we trust Him, we find the right person to marry, the right job, the right college, etc. Then, He helps us do what He has led us to do.
