Restored by the Lord

We all go through hard times. Sometimes, it is because we have sinned and made bad choices, so God is punishing us. Other times, God is sending trials to make us stronger in our faith. That is what He did for Job. However, in both instances God's goal is to see us restored, and to be even better off than we were before.

Job went through a terrible trial, but God was faithful to him. (Job 42:10) When Job did what God asked him to do and prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, He gave Job twice as much as he had before. That is a great example of the goodness of God!

Restoration from the Lord comes to us when we are sensitive to Him in our affliction. Then, when we hear from the Lord, He will tell us what to do. As we have faith to obey what He tells us, He will bring full restoration. Many times, we find ourselves much more blessed than we were before our hard times.

It is like a broken bone. When the bone is set, and it heals, it is stronger than before. When God breaks us and restores us, it is for our good, not our harm. He is teaching us to rely on Him fully, and when He sees us do that, He is very happy to restore us with more than before.
