Feeling Alone

There are times in life when we feel all alone. We pray, but God doesn't answer in a timely way. We seek God's presence, but it doesn't seem like He is interested in us. Those times can be very trying unless we have the right perspective on what is happening to us.

Job experienced a time like that as He sought God in his suffering. (Job 30:20) He told the Lord that he cried to Him, but God did not answer. He stood before the Lord, but God didn't even look. This seemed to make Job upset with God, at least to a certain degree. Let's learn from this example.

God does leave us alone at times. There are times when He doesn't answer our prayers quickly. Sometimes, we go to meet with Him, and His presence isn't there with us. At those times, we need to trust the Lord and not get angry. After all, He loves us, and He always does what is right for us, as we trust Him.

I have heard it said that we should never doubt in the dark what God has shown us in the light. In other words, when it seems like we are alone, we should remember all the things God has done for us and the ways He has sustained us. That should lead us to be patient and wait on the Lord, instead of getting upset. Then, when we wait on the Lord in faith, He always comes through.
