Our Awe of God
Our understanding of who God is has a huge effect on how we relate to God. It is vital that we recognize His power, authority, and majesty. When we do, we will worship Him the way He deserves to be worshiped, and we will obey Him the way He deserves to be obeyed. Only then will we have a solid relationship with the God of the universe.
The people of Nehemiah's day realized this and confessed their beliefs about God. (Nehemiah 9:6) They declared that He alone was Lord. They recognized that He was the One who created the skies, the heavens, and all the stars. They proclaimed that He was the creator of the earth and the seas and everything in them. They knew that He was the One who preserved all of them, and all of the angels in heaven worshiped Him for these things. We should do the same.
We are to worship God alone as the Lord of all. Father, Son, and Spirit are to be praised and obeyed for being in charge of all things. We are to worship God in awe of how has made the skies, the heavens and all the stars. Only an All-powerful, All-wise God could do that. In the same way He created the earth and everything in it, as well as preserving all He created. What an awesome God we serve!
The angels of heaven gather around Him to show their worship. They are at His beck and call to do whatever He desires. We should do the same in our worship, and we should always be ready to obey this awesome God of the universe, who loves us enough to send His Son to save us, so He can be our Loving Father, too.
