Expressing Our Anguish

Sometimes we feel so badly that we must express our anguish. We must speak up and try to find the right words to let God and others know what we are experiencing. Yes, it can even be complaining, but it a good thing, not a negative thing for us. The last thing we need to do is to hold our anguish in our heart. That could harm us badly.

Job definitely expressed his anguish to the Lord. (Job 7:11) He told his friends that he could not help but speak. He had to express His anguish. He had to let out the complaints of his bitter soul. We might be hurting like Job, and we need to realize how this can help us.

The last thing we need to do when we are hurting is to try to deny the pain. Denying it and acting like all is well, will only hurt us. It will be like a fire inside of us that will consume us. We must let it out by praying to the Lord and by talking with those whom we trust. That brings a cleansing to our heart.

Remember, God can take our complaints, if we do them honestly. We must know that He has allowed us to suffer for a reason, and He is accomplishing His purpose in us. Knowing that doesn't take all of the pain away, but it helps. Then, when we express our anguish, God is able to comfort us and teach us, like He did for Job.
