Do Not Be Stubborn
It is easy to get set in our ways. Our human nature is to do what we want to do. When we put those two things together, we end up being stubborn about things. We set our minds against changes, even when the changes would be good for us. I pray we would see the danger of being stubborn.
The people of God had become stubborn in Hezekiah's time, especially the people of the northern tribes. (II Chronicles 30:8) King Hezekiah sent messengers to every town to deliver his message. He admonished them to not be stubborn as the people int he north had been, but to submit to the Lord. He encouraged them to come to the Temple which God had set apart as holy forever, so they could worship the Lord, and His fierce anger would be turned away from them.
I believe God is angry with His people today, because many have become stubborn. They quit worshiping the Lord with other believers in person because of Covid, and now that the threat is over, they have decided not to submit to God and assemble together for worship, fellowship, and study. (Hebrews 10:23-25) I believe this makes the Lord sad and angry.
The Temple was set aside as holy in the Old Testament. Now, the church is the Body of Christ. Jesus died for the church. He is the Head of the church, and He calls His followers to be part of a body of believers for growth and for worship. (Ephesians 2:19-22) Please, remember this so God's anger will be turned away from His people today.
