Specifically Warned

God is very specific when He warns us about sin. This is a result of His great love for us. As a Loving Father, He desires for all of His children to escape the ravages of sin. No one will stand before the Lord at the end of this life and be able to say that they did not know what they should have done and what they should not have done.

Solomon is a great example of this truth. (I Kings 11:10) God had warned him specifically about worshiping other gods. However, Solomon did not listen to the Lord's commands. I am afraid this is true of most of the people who are born into this world.

God is specific, and we have a clear choice. Will we heed His warnings or not? God gave us free will, because He chose to create us and love us, so that we could choose to love Him back. If we decide to worship anything or anyone besides God, we are rebelling against His reason for our existence.

I pray we will stop and take time to let the Spirit show us all of the specific warnings we have received from God in His Word and as He spoke to our hearts, like He did for Solomon. Then, let's confess our sins of failing to heed the warnings, so that we turn to the Lord and listen to every warning and every command. God greatly desires to bless us for loving Him in this way, but He will punish us severely if we don't.
