Jesus's Prayers

Prayer is powerful. I know I can use all the prayers I can get. I am sure that is how it is for all of us, as believers. Life is full of troubles and challenges. We all constantly need wisdom and courage. We have to be able to stand up against Satan and his attacks on us. We can't do it on our own. If we try, we will fail every time. However, that is where prayer comes in, both our prayers and the prayers of others for us. God hears those prayers and delivers us from Satan's schemes. That is just what happened to Peter. (Luke 22:31-32)  Jesus told Simon Peter that Satan had desired to sift him as wheat, but Jesus had prayed for him, that his faith would not fail, and that when he turned back to the Lord, he would strengthen his brothers. As we know, that is exactly what happened, and it was a direct result of Jesus's prayer for Peter. We need to keep this truth in mind for ourselves each day.

Jesus saved us from our sins when we repented of our sins and put our trust in Him as Lord and Savior. We received the Holy Spirit to empower us and guide us, and He is invaluable for us to be victorious Christians. However, there is another significant factor that is overlooked. Jesus is always praying for us, as He prayed for Simon Peter. (Hebrews 7:25) Our faith will not fail us, because of those prayers. Jesus knows what Satan wants to do to us, and He knows what to ask the Father for us. He knows us, and He knows what we need to be strengthened in our faith to overcome the challenges from Satan and others. He will see us through as we trust Him, or even when we fail initially like Peter did. Then, when we return to Him, we can strengthen others with the power we received from the Lord for us. Therefore, we need never fear the devil, the world, and the flesh. Jesus is praying for us, so we simply need to listen to Him and receive His support, knowing He will see us to victory.
