Streams of Living Water from Within

 As Christians, we are new creations in Jesus. The old is gone and the new has come. We have our sins forgiven. We have eternal life that starts when we trust Jesus. We are different than before. One of the main reasons for the great changes is that we get the Holy Spirit to come live in us. He empowers us to live like Jesus, but He is also in us, so we can show forth the "living Water" of Jesus to others, so they can be changed, too. We can't do this on our own, but with the Holy Spirit flowing from us we can. Jesus told the people this in His day. (John 7:38-39) He was at a feast of the Jews in Jerusalem when He told them that anyone who believes in Him would have streams of living water flowing from deep within him. This He said because He knew that those who believed would receive the Holy Spirit after He was glorified by His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension back to heaven. Now, we live in that time, so we have the Spirit in us and flowing through us.

God is so good. He knows our weaknesses. He knows what He has for us to do as believers. We are to be lights to this world for Him. We are to be the salt of the earth to preserve the truth and bring people to Him. Therefore, He has given us His Spirit, the very presence of God, to live in us. Yes, the Spirit is essential for us to do His will and live like Jesus, but He is there for more than that. He is there to flow from us to others. He is the power of God to touch the lives of others and bring them to salvation. We can't save others, but the Spirit can and will, if we will only be filled with the Spirit each day and allow Him to flow from us to others. That is God's plan for every believer. Let's let Him work His plan in and through us, so many can see Jesus and come to know Him.
