No Other God

 We live in a world where there are all types of religions with all types of gods. What are we to believe? All of these gods could not really be God. Even if we believe there are many lesser gods, Who created the universe? These lesser gods are not able to do such a thing. In reality, the gods of this world are only man-made gods. They can't see, hear, or create anything. They are simply made up by people to satisfy their desire to worship something. They want to worship a god they envision and create, so they can still live as they want to live. All of this is futile. We need to see the reality that God told the Israelites to recognize and keep in mind. (Deuteronomy 4:39)  The Lord is God in heaven above and on earth below. There is no other. He is the Only, the All-Powerful Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe.

Many people want God to help them. They want to be able to ask Him to meet their needs and desires. However, the crucial question is this, "Will we recognize that the Lord is God? Will we bow to Him as the God in heaven and on earth? Will we give Him all of our devotion and trust in Him alone to lead us and to save us?" If we are not willing to recognize God in that way, we are not really believing in Him, and there is no way we can trust in Him to forgive us and save us. He is either Lord of all, or He is not Lord at all. Make no mistake, He is Lord of all. However, what matters to us is if He is Lord of our life. We must surrender to Him as Lord and allow Him to be the Lord in all of our life. Then, we are rightly related to the Lord Jesus Christ, the God of heaven and earth, who came to be our Savior, too.
