Arrogant Toward the Lord
Arrogance is a terrible attribute for anyone. However, an arrogant group of people or nation is especially offensive. Yes, I know we think our country is better than other countries. I think it is somewhat normal to have some national pride. That is not what I am talking about. I am referring to being arrogant toward other people, feeling disdain for them. That isn't seen too much, but it is really hard to handle when we see it. Then, there is even another level of arrogance by a group of people. It is arrogance toward God. Jeremiah spoke of this when he delivered his prophecies against Moab. (Jeremiah 48:42) God was destroying Moab from being a people, because they were arrogant toward God. Sounds very serious to me. What about you?
I am afraid we have many people in the USA who are arrogant toward the Lord. They genuinely think they know better than God does about many things, and they are very arrogant toward Him when they talk about those things. Just think of those who have declared that marriage is not only for a man and a woman. They arrogantly state that marriage can be between two men or two women. It can even be between more than two people. That is pretty arrogant to change what God ordained from the beginning. We have many people who have decided that life only really starts after birth, so it is fine to kill any baby in the womb up to the time of the delivery. They say this is fine for any reason, because the mother should be able to make the choice. Again they are arrogant toward God by taking a life and saying it is perfectly legal and moral. Finally, we have people now, who are saying that God didn't know what He was doing when He made male and female, so that we can choose what gender we want to identify with, regardless of how God made us. I believe that if God destroyed Moab for being arrogant toward the Lord, we better be very careful and repent of these things and others like them, before He destroys us as a people. Please, help me to pray for a genuine revival in America. We really need it soon!
