One Heart and Mind

 Jesus prayed a very important prayer before He went to the cross. We have it recorded in John 17. I would encourage all of us to read it and soak it up. It is so very meaningful. Among the truths prayed by Jesus to the Father is the fact that God's goal for us, as believers, is that we be one heart and mind, just like Jesus and the Father are one heart and mind. (John 17:21) The result of this change in the lives of believers would be amazing. We would then be able to have one heart and one mind with the Father and the Son. Also, the world would see this change, and they would come to know that Jesus was sent by the Father. I pray we all see this picture and live it out.

Notice the language of Jesus. All believers should be one heart and mind, and we will be when we reach the goal the Father has for us. He means for us to have perfect fellowship with each other, just like the Father and the Son have had perfect fellowship for eternity. Wouldn't that be fantastic? We would have so many true friends who would walk with us in one heart and mind. We would be able to change the world. We would be one heart and mind with the Father and Son, too, so the world would see that unity and be saved. It would be a terrific testimony to the reality of God and the true Person of Jesus. I pray we will strive to be one heart and mind, so we achieve the goal God has for us and the world.
