Even Better Blessings

 We all like blessings from the Lord. Blessings are a sign of His love and care for each of us. God loves everyone, the just and the unjust. He pours out His blessings on every person in the world. Yes, I know that we can't always see them readily, and we often neglect to look for them in the right way, so we miss them. However, God's blessings are with us, or we would not even be able to live. Jesus told Thomas that there were even better blessings in store for one group of people. (John 20:29) This should be something we all want to learn, so we can get those blessings that are even better than usual.

Our world wants to see things with their own eyes before they will believe in them. We are a very skeptical bunch of people. We think that science has to prove things or verify their validity before they are real and deserve our trust. Really people have always been that way to some degree. However, God told Thomas that those who believe without seeing would receive even better blessings. Why would He do that? God loves for us to act by faith in Him and His Word, so that we do not have to have things proven for us or see them with our own eyes. When we exercise that type of faith that believes without seeing, God wants to reward us, so we will believe even more. Therefore, I would urge all of us to take God at His Word. Whatever He says, we should trust Him in it and believe, so that we do it. Then, God will pour out His special blessings upon us.
