Sowing and Reaping

The principles of God are not hard to understand. In fact, we can see His principles in many things we see around us every day. Of course, they are general principles which usually work out, but there are exceptions,  since God can do whatever He knows is best for us. Most of us know about sowing and reaping. We harvest what we plant. If we plant corn, we get corn, not tomatoes. Paul used this principle to teach us about our lives. (Galatians 6:7,8) I think knowing this principle will help all of us.

We can either sow to the flesh or to the Spirit. Those are the only two options we have. We can decide to plant the things in our lives that come from our human nature. That is giving in to the cravings and desires we all have because we are human. If we do these things, we will harvest the things of the flesh, which lead us to destruction. Our flesh always leads us away from God and the things of the Lord. However, the right choice is to plant the things that the Holy Spirit wants us to do. He leads us to trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior, as well as, to grow to be like Him. If we do these things, we harvest eternal life and all of the rewards that go with doing God's will in His way. Unfortunately, most people just go with what feels good or what everyone else is doing. That is sowing to the flesh. If we do that, we will get more and more destruction. However, the Lord comes to all of us and leads us to trust Jesus, and this is possible for any of us, since we can all put our faith in Him. I pray that we all will make that choice to sow to the Spirit, instead of the flesh.
