God's Eternal Purpose

God doesn't do anything by accident or without a purpose. He has a plan for all of us and for this world in which we live. His purpose is perfect. We all need to have a firm understanding of God's purpose for us, so we can live in line with what He has planned. Paul gave us an excellent statement of what God wants for all of us. (Ephesians 3:11,12) It is exciting to think about the great things that He designed for us and what He wants for each of us. Let's take a moment to consider what He said.

God's eternal purpose is accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. God knew that He would send Christ into the world, even before He created people. He knew we would sin and need Jesus to be our Savior. Therefore, the Lord came to earth as a man to die and rise again for us, so that once we put our trust "in Him" we have a relationship with Him. Then, we have boldness, since we know Christ, and we know He has forgiven us and saved us by His grace. We have confident access to the Father through knowing Jesus. We can come before His throne of grace in time of need with the confidence that He hears us, and He will answer any prayer according to His will. This is an eternal relationship with the God of the universe through knowing and trusting Jesus. This is God's purpose for all of us. He longs for all to know Him and have this boldness and confident access to Him through faith.
