The Proof of God's Love for Us
There are many people who doubt that God is real, because they see the pain and suffering in the world around us. It is hard for them to reconcile the fact that God is All-powerful, All-Loving, and completely righteous and that He allows so many terrible things to happen to people. There are many good books written on this subject by Ravi Zacharias and other great Christian authors in which they explain this very well. However, for the sake of this post I want to focus on one thing that God inspired Paul to write for us in Romans 5:8. I believe it is conclusive proof that God loves us, and He is All-powerful and righteous in all He does.
No matter what else God does or what else He allows to happen, God has proven His great love for all of us in that Christ came and died for us, while we were still sinners. That will always be the greatest act of love ever done by anyone. God loved us even though we had sinned against Him, and we were not seeking Him as we should. Because of His love, He came to earth as the God/Man and died for our sins. He did not have to do that. He did it out of love, because He is love. He did it so that no matter what happens to any of us in this life by trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior, we can spend eternity with Him in heaven. That truth overcomes all other temporary pain and suffering. Therefore, whenever we are tempted to doubt God or His goodness, or His love, let's be quick to look to the cross, and to realize God loves us all so much.
