You are Absolutely Beautiful

I believe we all like to receive compliments. Of course, the compliments have to be sincere. I am afraid that sometimes we give out compliments  to others more than we give them to our family members. That is a tragedy. It ought to be the other way around. I hope you will read Song of Solomon or Song of Songs and take it to heart. Notice all of the complimentary things that are said between Solomon and his wife. (Song of Solomon 4:7) I believe this is God's will for any married couple, and it applies to parents speaking with their children, as well. The blessings we give to our loved ones through our words can transform their lives.

Solomon told his wife that she was "absolutely beautiful." I believe he meant it, too. To him she was beautiful in every way. Does that mean she was perfect in her beauty? No. None of us have perfect faces or bodies. No one is without some imperfections. However, when we love someone, we see their beauty with new eyes. We appreciate their beauty, and we should give them abundant compliments for what we see. We know they have weaknesses, but we do not dwell on them. We dwell on their strengths. These positive words build up, instead of tearing down. We all need building up. That is especially true for children. They have so many insecurities. They need all of the praise they can get. Therefore, let's stop pointing out the faults and only saying negative things to those we love. Let's be their biggest fan and cheerleader, because we have a sincere love that wants them to blossom into all God created them to be.
