King Solomon's Conclusion

Solomon set out on a quest to find what was really meaningful in life. Since he was the wisest man, and he was the most wealthy man of his time, he could investigate every part of life completely. He tried work, pleasure, and all the pursuits of man. Then, when his investigation was complete, he gave us his conclusion. (Ecclesiastes 12:13) Of course, since it is in God's Word, we can know his conclusion is correct. We all need to hear what Solomon said, so we can pursue the most meaningful thing in life.

Our life is short. The work we do here is temporary. When we die, we leave all of our earthly work behind. The same is true for money. No matter how much we are worth when we die, it does us no good in eternity. No matter how much pleasure we enjoyed in our years of life, when we die it stops, and those types of pleasures will not aid us for eternity. I believe that is what Solomon realized after his search, because he concluded that what each of us needs to do is to fear God and keep His commands. When we fear the Lord, we believe in Him, and we trust Him, or put our faith in Him, knowing His greatness and power. Also, when we do God's commands, we are assured of doing the best things in life. That is why God gave them to us. They apply to every person, and they make every life better if we follow them. I pray that we will all heed this conclusion and find the path to the most meaningful things in life.
