Praising God's Magnificent Name

David wrote many psalms, and they have so many different themes. Each one shows us the complexity of life. At times, we need God's mercy. Other times, we need His strength or wisdom. David is vulnerable in his psalms. He shows his weaknesses and his failures. We can all relate to his many emotional cries to the Lord. However, many of David's psalms are filled with praises for the Lord. It seems that his heart was filled with praise, even when things were not going well. That is a sign of a true believer. Our faith leads us to praise the magnificent name of the Lord consistently. (Psalm 8:1) Let's see how and why David praised the Lord so much, so we can, too.

We need to realize that God is Lord of all. He existed before anything else, and all that is came from Him. He is in charge of His universe. Also, we need to surrender to Jesus Christ as our Lord, our personal Master for our life. We will do this when we finally realize the magnificence of His name throughout the earth. God has made Himself known in every corner of the earth. (Romans 1:18-23) He has revealed Himself to all people, so each one of us can see His power and holiness. Yes, not everyone bows to Him in faith, but we have no excuse if we don't. He has covered the heavens with His majesty for all to behold His work. Just consider the wisdom and power He had to create all of this world and beyond. His name is magnificent! We must praise Him, as we behold His majesty all around us each day. Also, we praise our Lord Jesus for being our Redeemer, because of His great love for us. What a Savior and Lord!

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 9-11.
