Worthy is the Lamb
Jesus is worthy to receive blessing, honor, glory, and might forever and ever. In fact, both the Father and the Son are worthy of all of the praise of all of the creatures in heaven and on earth. (Revelation 5:13) This is a great reminder for us at Christmas. Are we going to give God all of the blessing, honor, glory, and might, or do we want some for ourselves? Let's take stock of the situation, so we can do the right thing.
We would not be alive, if it wasn't for the life God gave us. We could not earn a dime, if He had not given us the physical and mental ability to do our job. All of the money we have is His gift to us. He blessed us with it and allowed us to earn it. Therefore, any presents we are able to give and receive are the results of His goodness toward us, not our own efforts. Then, the greatest thing the Father did was to set up the perfect plan of salvation for all mankind. It was His love that compelled Him to send His Son to be the Lamb, and it was the love of Christ that motivated Him to say yes to the Father and to become the sacrifice for our sins. We could never save ourselves, so Jesus came as a baby in the manger. He lived a sinless life, and died in our place, so anyone who repents of their sins, trusts Him as Savior, and surrenders to Him as Lord of their life can be saved. What a plan and what a gift! Now can you see why God deserves blessing, honor, glory, and might forever and ever? Let's give it all to Him at Christmas and all year long.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 6-8.
