Complete Restoration

God is the God of second chances. In fact, He gives us many chances, if we will simply humble ourselves under His mighty hand and return to Him in repentance and faith. When we sin, and God has to punish us, we must not give up. That is what the devil will tell us to do. We need to trust in His compassion, and throw ourselves upon His mercy. That is what His people did during the exile, so He returned them to the land. (Zechariah 10:6) He completely restored them, and he will do the same for us.

God is full of compassion, and His mercies are new every morning.(Lamentations 3:22,23) Always remember that God is love, so even His punishment is done in love, so we will learn about our rebellion and turn back to His blessings. Then, when He restores us to favor with Him, He makes it as though He had not rejected us. That is what He did for Israel, and it is still His way today. In salvation, we are justified by faith in Christ. That means, He looks at us just as if we had never sinned. We are fully restored and fully reconciled to Him. We are not second class believers. Just think of Peter, who denied Jesus 3 times. He was restored and became God's spokesman on Pentecost when 3,000+ were saved. He was an apostle of Jesus to feed His sheep, and He was inspired to write 2 books of the Bible under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That is why I can assure all of us that God can and will completely restore those who sincerely call upon Him.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Zechariah 12-14.
