By My Spirit, say the Lord
We fail so very often when we try to do things in our own power. We should learn that lesson, but it is a hard one for us to grasp. We tend to be so independent and self-confident. If we do not let go of those character flaws and learn to be humbly submissive to the Lord, we will continue to fail, despite our best efforts. That is why we need to hear the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel from the book of Zechariah. (Zechariah 4:6) It is simply amazing what will happen when we do things God's way and by His provision.
We all have certain abilities or might. These things could be called our strengths. They make us feel mighty, any way. Also, each of us has a certain amount of power, not only physical strength, but power through our influence over others. However, that power is dwarfed by the power of God. Our strengths are nothing in might compared to God's might, either. Therefore, we must realize that it is not by might or by power, but by God's Spirit that we will be victorious in life situations. The Spirit of God is available for us to do whatever the Lord has for us to do. His might never fails, and He is All-powerful. Therefore, we should submit to the Spirit of God each day, ask Him to fill us, and walk in Him all day long. Then, God can and will accomplish His will in and through us consistently.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Zechariah 6-8.
