Blameless before God and the King
Most of us know the account of Daniel and the lions den. We know that God saved him from certain death. However, do we know why God saved Daniel? I am not sure very many people know the reason that Daniel gave the king, and we probably have not thought about how that applies to us. (Daniel 6:21,22) I believe we need to know this truth and apply it in our lives.
Daniel told the king that God saved him because he was blameless before God and the king. God knew that Daniel had not sinned against Him or the king, so he did not deserve to die. It was the men who set the trap for him who deserved death and got it. What does that have to do with us today, as believers? The truth is that we can be blameless before God and other people. Of course, we can't be sinless, but we can be blameless. We are blameless when we do what it takes to be right with God through salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and then, we live as God's Word directs us to live in the power of His Spirit. When we do sin, we are still blameless if we confess our sins to God and make them right with other people we hurt in any way. We are blameless before others when we love them as God does, and when we sin against them, we make it right by seeking forgiveness and reconciliation. Therefore, my question for all of us is, "Are we blameless, or are we in danger of the judgment of God upon our lives, because we do not know Christ, or we have not made things right with God and others after our salvation?" We need to live each day with the goal of being blameless like Daniel.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Daniel 7-10.
