Give Glory to the Lord
We must always be mindful to give the Lord all of the glory due to His holy name. One of the worst things we can do is to steal His glory or to give glory to those who do not deserve it. Both of those things are an insult to the One True God. That is why Isaiah admonished the people of the east and of the coastlands to give glory to the Lord. (Isaiah 24:15) He knew how dangerous it was for us to do anything else.
When you get a paycheck, do you think that you deserve the credit because of your hard work? If so you are forgetting that God gave you that job, and He gave you the ability to do it. Therefore, He deserves the glory for every cent we make. When you excel on a test at school, do you get proud, thinking that you are so smart? If so, you miss the fact that God gave you any intellectual ability you have, so He deserves the glory for any academic achievements we may accomplish. Do you have the ability to perform well in a particular sport or hobby? If you do, please, remember that ability came from God, so you ought to give Him all of the glory, instead of keeping any for yourself. I think we all see what I mean, but we must be diligent to live in such a way that we give all of the glory to the Lord and point many other people to Him by our testimony of His great glory.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 25-27.
