Sowing and Reaping

God has certain laws that He has set in motion. He makes sure that they always come true. That is how He set up the universe, and that is how He rules over mankind. Of course, we all know the law of gravity. If we fail to remember it, we will get hurt. I wonder how many of us remember the law of sowing and reaping all the time. (Isaiah 3:10,11) If we fail to remember it, our lives will be drastically affected. I pray that all of us will take these verses to heart and live each day according to what they tell us.

People say, "What goes around, comes around." That is another way of stating the law of sowing and reaping. If we plant or sow corn, we will reap corn, and we will generally reap more than we sow. If we plant corn, and we expect green beans, we will be very disappointed. The fact is, we will not get any green beans. OK, so what happens if we lead sinful lives by having bad attitudes, words, and actions. God's law is that we will get back what we have dealt out, and we will get even more of it. Therefore, our life will be very unhappy. Some people want to plant wicked things and reap good things. That never happens.

If we want to have a harvest of good fruits, we must sow good things. We must have the right attitudes, words, and actions, those things are are what God wants us to be and do. If we live righteous lives, we will eat the fruit of righteousness, which is to have a good life. That does not mean we will not have pain and troubles. It means that we will experience the love and grace that we have given out, and we will receive it back in abundance. Remember, God will make sure of that. So what do you want for your life?

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 5-7.
