Here I Am, Send Me

God is looking for volunteers to go into His service. There is not a draft. No one is forced to serve the Lord, even though it is part of His plan for the life of every believer. If we fail to volunteer, we miss the blessings, and we fail to grow in our relationship with Him as we should. We all need to be like Isaiah when he saw the Lord, high and lifted up. We need to simply say, "Here I am, send me." (Isaiah 6:8) Then, we can hold on to Him for the ride of our lives. Nothing is more exhilarating than being in the center of God's will for our life.

It baffles me why believers do not volunteers to go for the Lord and do whatever He has gifted them to do. We all know that Jesus volunteered to leave heaven and to be born in a cattle stall. Then, He did the Father's will for about 33 years. He never sinned, but He allowed Himself to be tempted in every way as we are. Finally, He took our place in His sacrificial death so we could have life. He showed us that He won the victory by rising from the dead 3 days later. He said to the Father, "Here I am, send Me." Then, He accomplished the mission that the Father had sent Him to do. How can we know all of that and be selfish enough to reject His plea, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" It may be to go across the street or around the world, but if we can be like our Lord Jesus Christ, it will be worth it all and more. The satisfaction of seeing Him smile on our lives is the best thing we could every receive from life.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 8-10.
