God of Order, Not Confusion
God is not a God of confusion. He loves order, and He lives with order in all He does. Therefore, it is His will for His church to have order, and not be chaotic, too. (I Corinthians 14:33) We should be careful to follow all of the instructions in the Word of God, as we seek to worship the Lord and serve Him. Then, God can bless us and our ministry.
The apostle Paul gives us instructions in this chapter. He goes into detail about what to include in our worship times, and how to insure there is the proper order to it all. The main emphasis is to make sure the people in the service understand all that is happening, so they can be built up and not confused by it. If there is no order, or if people are competing to get the attention of the congregation, then the message gets lost. Worship is not a time to show off. It is a time to learn and grow, as we exalt the name of the Lord in a disciplined way. Yes, we can still be very creative, but our creativity must follow His order.
I believe the same is true of our personal lives, as believers. We should have lives of order, not chaos. We should discipline ourselves to do all that His Word says for us to do. Then, we can grow and mature in the Lord. Growth is a result of ordering our lives according to the Word of God.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Corinthians 15-16 and II Corinthians 1.
