To Seek and to Save
Jesus had a definite mission for His life on earth. Yes, He came to live a sinless life as the God/Man, so He could shed His blood and die for our sins, and we could be forgiven and have eternal life. However, The bigger picture was that He came to "seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:10) Everywhere Jesus went He was sensitive to the direction of the Father, and He went to people like Zacchaeus, who were open to His message of repentance and forgiveness. Then, He would save them when they put their trust in Him.
Since we are disciples of Jesus, we are to do the same things He did. Therefore, we are to live daily to seek out those who are open to hearing about the Lord. Today, we call them "Seekers." However, we need to be the seekers first, just like Jesus. Then, when we find that they are willing to trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we make sure they know the Good News of the gospel, so they can make that decision once and for all. I pray that we will all be known as disciples who are here to seek and to see the lost people we encounter saved.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Luke 20-22.
