Satan's Temptations and Jesus' Intercession
Satan is like a roaring lion roaming around seeking whom he may devour. He tries to keep people from trusting Jesus, and then, once we becomes believers, he tries to ruin our lives, since he can't keep us from heaven. Sometimes, Jesus allows him to tempt us, so we can trust Jesus and overcome the temptation which makes us stronger. However, when Jesus allows him to sift us, Jesus is praying for us, as He prayed for Peter. (Luke 22:31,32) Peter was shaken, but he came through trusting Jesus, and he was able to strengthen his brothers.
How often do we remember that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He is interceding for us all of the time? (Hebrews 7:25) That is a fabulous truth! If we belong to Him, He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, and He will give us a way of escape. (I Corinthians 10:13)All the while He is praying, so He knows we will be fine in the end. I pray that causes us to trust Him more and not to get discouraged by our trials. Jesus is on our side. He is praying for just what we need, as we trust Him. We will make it through, but we may be shaken to the bone. Afterward, we will have stronger faith than ever.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Luke 23-24 and John 1.
