The Word of God
God speaks with a purpose. His words are powerful, and they never fail to carry out His desires and His purposes. (Isaiah 55:11) The words of man pale in comparison to the words of God. In fact, we need to remember that whenever we can speak forth the words of God, what we say will be much more effective than when we use our own words.
God spoke the world and the universe into existence. His words are so effective that all He has to do is to utter a command, and it is done completely. When Jesus returns, the Bible says that He will end the battle of Armageddon by using the sword that proceeds from His mouth. I believe that is just by speaking, but it is a reference to the Word of God, too. Ephesians 6 tells us that we are to take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and when we use His Word, it will always defeat Satan and his devises against us. His Word is truth, and the truth is powerful. It always triumphs over falsehood and lies. The problem is that so few people know the Word of God, and we do not use it as we should. Make no mistake. I am not referring to the positive confession type of using God's Word to get what we want. I am saying that God's Word will always accomplish His will, and that is what we should want for ourselves and for others, so we should be quick to speak God's Word and to watch what He does.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 57-59.
