The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator
What is God like? He is everlasting or eternal in that He had no beginning, and He will have no end. He is the Lord, the One in control of everything with complete sovereignty. He is the Creator of all of the earth and the whole universe. Besides these amazing facts about the One True God, Isaiah adds some things for us to realize about Him. (Isaiah 40:28,29) We need to remember all of these things every day.
God never becomes weary or tired. He has unlimited strength, and that strength is all-powerful, too. His understanding is inscrutable. He understands everything so perfectly that no one can question His understanding or explanation of reality. He has a heart of love and compassion for the weary, so that He gives us strength. He shares His strength with us, and when we need it, He gives us some of His power. That is because He cares for all of His creatures, especially people, his highest creation.
Therefore, I ask, "What do you need that He can't supply?" The answer is easy, "nothing". Whatever we need, God is the One to go to, and He will impart to us all we need according to His perfect understanding of us and our needs.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 43-45.
