Quarreling with Our Maker
There are some things that are not very smart. One that is near the top of the list is to have a bad attitude with God and to quarrel with Him. After all, He made us. He designed people, life, and the universe. If He does not know what He is doing, no one does. However, there are people who quarrel with God. Isaiah pointed out how this is so pointless. (Isiah 45:9) This verse may help us or someone close to us, if we are tempted to make this mistake.
God is our Maker, and we are just earthen vessels or clay pots. In fact, we are clay pots among all of the clay pots of the earth. There is nothing special about us. We are very common and ordinary. However, God created everything. He is the Only Wise God. Is it really smart for us to insinuate or to question if God knows what He is doing? He is the Only One who knows exactly what He is doing. Is it a good course of action to say to the One who made us and is working in our lives, "He has no hands?" In other words, should we accuse Him of having no way to mold us or make us. I think not. All of that comes from a bad attitude of pride and rebellion in a time of trouble. We need to stop thinking that way and bow before the Lord, our Maker. Then, He can and will show us what He is making us, even if we never know why He did it the way He chose to do it. In fact, He is making us like Jesus.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 46-48.
