The Recompense of God

Most people want to take their own vengeance on others who hurt them. However, that is very unhealthy, and it is sin. God will take care of all vengeance because He is our Judge. We only hurt ourselves and break our close relationship with the Lord, when we take things into our own hands. Isaiah told us this truth, when God gave him a prophecy about the Millennial time, when God would take care of the enemies of Israel, but it applies for all believers at all times. (Isaiah 35:4) Look at what God told us here.

When we have an anxious heart, it could cause us to want to hurt others. It is at that point we need to hear the Lord clearly. He said, "Take courage, fear not." We must begin by realizing that being anxious and fearful is not what God wants for His children. In fact, it is sin. (Philippians 4:6,7; II Timothy 1:7) Instead, we are to get courage from the Lord by trusting that He will protect us, and He will recompense those who would do us harm. We do not have to worry, but pray. God loves those prayers, and He will be quick to hear and to act for us.

God has assured us that He will take vengeance and save us. (Romans 12:17-21) We need not doubt Him, and we must not take the vengeance up ourselves. When we do, we will end up doing things the wrong way, and we will make it all worse. God can and will make it better, if we do it His way, not our way.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 37-39.
